Pope Paul & the Illegals have been rockin' the Southern California music scene for about 2 years strong. They play an eclectic mix of Americana music, including rockabilly, psychobilly, country, swing, and rock 'n' roll. Some of their biggest influences include groups like The Reverend Horton Heat, Legendary Shack Shakers, and Hank III. They have opened for many high-profile Americana acts, including Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys, The Blasters, Slim Jim Phantom, The Bellfuries, Deke Dickerson, and Wanda Jackson. Last fall, they toured through the South, playing throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Alabama, and Louisiana. They recently released their debut album, White Smoke Rises, which includes everything from high-energy rockabilly to "tear in your beer" country tunes. Honky-tonk, rockabilly, blues, and swing, Pope Paul & The Illegals know how to keep the given crowd happy!
